![]() It's not a far reach to say that Simeon is likely 100+ years old too. That's when they established the Obsidians. ![]() (Huge spoilers from postgame): It is implicitly revealed that Simeon was immortal: Mattias (Ophilia's ch4 boss) "gained eternal life" 100+ years ago thanks to Lyblac, and he met Simeon not soon after getting that blessing. I ended up at around 70 hours with Octopath, I liked some of the individual stories more than others, and ended up not finishing a couple… which means I didn't do the secret final boss. The world was just so much fun to explore. How much time do you want to play the game? I put well over 150 hours into XBC DE, doing all the side quests and such. I actually found it quite refreshing to consume the game in these little doses, so I definitely don't think one is better than the other, just depends on your mood. You're following individual stories, broken up into chapters that take maybe an hour, hour and a half. It's good for times when you want to play for hours and be immersed in a fantasy world. The scale was grand, the areas of exploration were huge. How much scope do you want in your games? For me, Xenoblade was much bigger. I just finished Octopath about a month ago so it's fresher in my mind. They're very different games, and scratch a different sort of JRPG itch.
